Purpose of Job

To raise philanthropic support for Alpha USA focusing on major donors.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Commit to organization’s vision/mission and articulate well.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution.
  • Exhibit strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Exemplify qualities of faith, honesty, trustworthiness, initiative, creativity, tenacity, teachable, diligence, and dependability.
  • Sign and adhere to organization confidentiality requirements.
  • Possess a working knowledge of fund-raising methods and understand planned giving tools and strategies.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule with irregular work hours and be able and willing to travel 40-50% of the time.
  • Demonstrate a desire to achieve personal and organizational goals as a motivated self-starter.
  • 3 years minimum of major gift fundraising experience, directly soliciting individuals.

Responsibilities (included but not limited to)

  • Identifies, qualifies, solicits, cultivates and stewards a portfolio of major gift donors.
  • Builds connections and discovers donor values, capacity, interests and passions.
  • Develops and implements strategic gift solicitations.
  • Speaks to individuals, companies and organizations about the work of the AlphaUSA.
  • Assists with special event logistics for events.
  • Records appropriate donor data in CRM in a timely, professional manner.
  • Meets and tracks fundraising plans and activities toward annual metric goals.

Key Relationships – Internal: Effectively collaborate with Alpha International, Network Directors, Context Directors, and across Alpha USA Departments

LANGUAGE ABILITY

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effectively present information clearly with good diction in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization over the phone or in person.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.

Education

· Bachelor’s Degree

· Alpha experience is preferred
