Job Title: Communications Manager
Position Overview:
The Communications Manager will develop and execute strategic communication initiatives across various channels to elevate Alpha USA’s brand and drive engagement among potential users and potential guests on Alpha Courses. This role requires a creative, highly organized, and detail-oriented individual who can craft clear, impactful messages, manage various media platforms, and support internal communications. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and an understanding of digital marketing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Communication Planning: Develop and implement communication strategies that support Alpha USA’s vision, mission, values, and objectives, ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms.
- Content Creation: Lead written content creation for Alpha USA’s website, blog, social media platforms, and email campaigns. Ensure content is optimized for SEO and effectively engages our target audience.
- Content Management: Manage communication schedules and deliverables around multiple, simultaneous events, campaigns, special projects and initiatives.
- Branding & Messaging: Ensure that all external and internal communications reflect Alpha USA’s brand voice, values, and strategic messaging. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cohesive and effective campaigns that weave together and cross-promote all our resources: Alpha Film Series, Alpha Youth Series, the Marriage Course, etc.
- Media and Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with podcast hosts and influencers. Draft press releases, media kits, and pitch materials to promote key announcements, product launches, events, and company news. Respond to media inquiries as needed and appropriate.
- Internal Communications: Work with Chief of Staff on internal communication efforts to keep Alpha Staff informed, engaged, and aligned with the vision, mission, values and organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field, with a proven track record in managing both internal and external communications strategies.
Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
- Strong project management skills with an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in content creation and management across digital platforms (web, social media, email).
- Solid understanding of SEO, social media analytics, and digital marketing trends.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
- Creative problem-solving and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Media relations experience and knowledge of PR strategies a plus.
- Creative visual media skills preferred but not required
Key Results:
- Craft an annual communication strategy aligning our priorities with our annual events, campaigns, and initiatives.
- Regular cadence of email communication that serves various audiences including but not limited to: Churches, Students, Workplace leaders, Campus and University leaders, Ethnic Majority church leaders and Donors.
- Craft visual media messaging for a variety of short-form video content, including but not limited to: video promotion churches can leverage to promote Alpha, guest-facing ad campaigns, promotion to churches unfamiliar with Alpha
- Creation and distribution of PR kits for influencers, podcasters, denomination leaders and conferences
- Annually Write and edit scripts for training videos in various contexts.
- Execute and Leverage data-driven research to assess how the Brand is preforming and implement strategies for improving brand-recognition and retention.
